The Tumbler
Handle-Free • Tactile • Versatile Daily Companion
The Tumbler is the KJ Pottery version of your daily go-to, designed for those who prefer the warm, palm-hugging feel of a handle-free vessel. Whether it’s for your morning iced coffee, a mid-day matcha, or a cool evening cocktail, this tumbler is built for versatility. Hand-thrown from our signature iron-red earthenware clay, it features a clean silhouette with a thin, unglazed band around its belly—a tactile signature that connects your hand directly to the raw material.
Palm-Perfect Design: The handle-free form is ergonomically designed to be held closely, making it a favorite for those who find comfort in the physical warmth (or cool) of their drink.
Signature Contrast: Every tumbler is finished in your choice of our staple glazes, elegantly interrupted by a raw, unglazed "belly" band that showcases the rich, iron-red clay beneath.
The Ideal Volume: Holding 10–12 oz, it’s perfectly sized for everything from your favorite daily juice to a cozy cup of tea.
Artisan Durability: While delicate in its handmade beauty, the high-fired earthenware is sturdy and ready for the daily rhythms of a modern kitchen.
The Mission: The Heart of KJ Pottery
At KJ Pottery, we believe that the objects you hold should be as meaningful as the conversations they witness. Based in Spokane, Washington, our woman-owned studio is dedicated to the "slow made" movement. In a world of mass production, we maintain that there is significant value in the intentional time and individual skill required to create something by hand. Our pottery is what we do, but bringing joy, connection, and purpose to your home is why we do it.
Experience the Moment
The Vibe: Minimalist, grounded, and intentionally simple.
The Feel: A satisfying contrast between the smooth, glass-like glaze and the gritty, earthy texture of the raw clay band.
The Connection: Perfect for those moments of presence—where the focus is simply on the drink in your hands and the person across the table.
