Tall Ceramic Pitcher

A statuesque tribute to the alchemy of earth and fire.

The Tall Ceramic Pitcher is a masterwork of minimalist form and raw, volcanic texture. Hand-thrown in Guadalajara, this 1.5-liter vessel features an elongated, graceful silhouette that highlights the natural beauty of Mexican clay. In an intentional display of craftsmanship, the pitcher is glazed only on the interior for liquid-safe utility, while the exterior remains raw. The striking earth tones you see are not applied pigments, but rather a direct reaction of the local clay blend to the intense heat of the kiln fire.

This elemental approach to design ensures that every pitcher is a singular creation. Depending on its placement in the kiln, the clay may transform into a spectrum of toasted ambers, deep terracottas, or smoky charcoals. Whether utilized as a central serving piece for water and wine or as a sculptural vase for long-stemmed botanicals, this pitcher brings a sophisticated, "Modern Primitive" energy to the contemporary table.

The Al Centro Cerámica Mission: The Bond of Craft

Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Al Centro Cerámica was founded by Michele de Alba to bridge the gap between ancestral pottery traditions and contemporary design. We collaborate directly with local artisan workshops in Guanajuato and Jalisco to manufacture timeless ceramic tableware and vases. Our process is rooted in a deep respect for "human capabilities," ensuring that our production pace honors the artisan's craft rather than overextending it.

When you choose Al Centro Cerámica, you are supporting a collective effort that values goodness and integrity. We believe in a vital bond between the designer, the manufacturer, and the consumer. Each piece is an example of that connection—a manifestation of the pottery traditions of Mexico refined for the global stage.

Features & Details

Featured Studio: Designed and coordinated by Al Centro Cerámica; handmade in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Artisan Craftsmanship: Hand-thrown using traditional techniques and fired in high-heat kilns.

Fire-Induced Pigmentation: Crafted from specialized blends of local earth and clay that change color based on heat exposure, eliminating the need for exterior glazes.

Functional Interior: The inside is fully glazed, making it food-safe and easy to maintain.

Capacity: 1.5 Liters — An elegant scale for hospitality or home dining.

Artisanal Variance: Because the fire dictates the final finish, please expect a wide range of beautiful tonal variations. No two pieces are identical.

Care & Maintenance

To protect the organic, unglazed exterior, we recommend hand washing with mild soap and a soft sponge. While the glazed interior is non-porous, the raw clay exterior can absorb oils or highly pigmented liquids; we suggest wiping the outside dry after use. Allow the piece to air dry completely. This pitcher is designed to be a tactile part of your home, developing a subtle, beautiful character over years of use.
