About the Artist: Publishing the Stories of the Forest
As an artist, my mission is Ostranenie: presenting common things in an unfamiliar way to enhance our perception of the familiar. Trees are nature’s historians, recording everything from the activity of a wood ant to shifts in the global climate. I see myself as a publisher of stories written in wood. My process is rooted in a deep respect for the environment:
-
Ethically Sourced: I never cut down trees. I gather wood only from previously fallen trees in significant locations, such as National Parks, National Forests, or historical sites.
-
Hand-Pressed: Inspired by the work of Bryan Nash Gill, I hand-pull every print. These are authentic woodcuts, not machine-made reproductions.
-
Truly Unique: Every print is a one-of-a-kind work of art, capturing the unique history and "soul" of the specific tree it was crafted from.
Oregon Coast Sitka Spruce: A 372-Year History
Bring the majestic spirit of the Pacific Northwest into your home.
This massive 52x60 inch woodcut captures the 372-year life story of a Sitka Spruce from the Oregon Coast. This is an actual handmade woodcut print that reveals centuries of growth, weather, and resilience. Because it is hand-pressed, you are receiving a piece of history as unique as the tree itself.

Sustainable Art: Sourced from naturally fallen timber, this piece allows you to celebrate the towering beauty of the Oregon Coast ethically and responsibly.

A Connection to the Outdoors: The organic patterns and textures create a calming atmosphere, allowing you to feel the presence of the forest even while indoors.
Customization & Care
-
Framing Advice: To prevent damage, I ship all prints unframed. Because I use very high-quality paper, these prints can be framed without glass (similar to a canvas). I recommend consulting a local frame shop for a piece of this magnitude.
-
My Guarantee: I stand by my work. If you aren’t completely satisfied, I offer a full, no-questions-asked refund.
