Handcrafted Ball Pitcher
An earthy vessel of sculptural form and volcanic texture.
The Handcrafted Ball Pitcher is a celebration of the raw, elemental beauty of Mexican pottery. Shaped into a generous, spherical silhouette, this jug is masterfully crafted using a proprietary blend of local clays and earths. In a departure from traditional decorative techniques, the pitcher is glazed only on the interior for functionality; the exterior remains unglazed, allowing the kiln's fire to "pigment" the clay naturally. The resulting finish is a sophisticated gradient of toasted earth tones and organic textures that feel both ancient and modern.
This pitcher is as much a work of art as it is a functional serving piece. With a substantial 50 oz. capacity, it is ideal for serving chilled water, sangria, or displaying a structural floral arrangement. Because the color is a direct reaction between the earth and the fire, each piece possesses a unique "signature" of tones—ranging from deep terracottas to smoky greys—ensuring that no two pitchers are ever exactly alike.
The Al Centro Cerámica Mission: The Bond of Craft
Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Al Centro Cerámica was founded by Michele de Alba to bridge the gap between ancestral pottery traditions and contemporary design. We collaborate directly with local artisan workshops in Guanajuato and Jalisco to manufacture timeless ceramic tableware and vases. Our process is rooted in a deep respect for "human capabilities," ensuring that our production pace honors the artisan's craft rather than overextending it.
When you choose Al Centro Cerámica, you are supporting a collective effort that values goodness and integrity. We believe in a vital bond between the designer, the manufacturer, and the consumer. Each piece is an example of that connection—a manifestation of the pottery traditions of Mexico refined for the global stage.

Care & Maintenance
To preserve the organic exterior of your ceramic pitcher, we recommend hand washing with mild soap and water. While the interior is glazed and protected, the exterior is porous and reflects the raw nature of the clay; avoid soaking in oils or dark liquids that may stain the unglazed surface. Allow the piece to air dry completely before storing. This pitcher is designed to age gracefully, developing a unique character that tells the story of its Mexican heritage.
