Seed & Planting Care
Snap peas thrive in the cool windows of the growing season and require vertical space to produce their heavy yields.
Timing: This is the perfect pea for early spring or late summer planting. For the best start, sow seeds as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring.
Support Required: This is a tall, vigorous variety! Vines will climb up to 6' tall and require a sturdy trellis, fence, or netting to grow effectively.
Sowing Method: Direct sow seeds 1" deep. Peas have delicate roots and prefer to be sown directly into the garden rather than transplanted.
Ideal Conditions: Thrives in well-drained soil. They are an excellent garden-grown source of protein and perform best when temperatures are mild.
